Amanda Basmaji, Owner

Amanda first picked up the flute over 20 years ago when she was just 11 years old. In high school, Amanda played first chair flute for the Tyngsboro High School Symphonic Wind Band which won the prestigious "Superior" rating all 4 years. She then attended the University of Massachusetts, Lowell for a Major in Flute Performance with a focus on Music Education. There she studied flute under the direction of Susan Gall and Melissa Mielens. At UML, she practiced conducting, composition, music theory, and aural/auditory recognition while learning to instruct brass, wind, and string instruments in single and multi-student settings. Amanda also played with the UML Symphonic Concert Band, the highly decorated Wind Ensemble, and various other chamber music ensembles lead by Professors Daniel P. Lutz and David Martins.

Amanda has over 10 years of private in-home and in-school teaching experience. She previously instructed at Pepperell Music Center in Pepperell, MA, The Little Red School of Art and Music in Stratford, CT, Stratford High School, and she performed with The Connecticut Symphonic Winds band out of Stratford, CT. In the fall of 2012, Amanda was appointed as general music teacher at Country Day School in Groton, Massachusetts. There she turned a struggling music program into a successful, thriving course while introducing the school's first instrumental program and completely revamping its Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade curriculum. She has recently relocated back to the Nashua, NH area in August of 2016 and established AB Music School.

Amanda is also an accomplished flute and piccolo repair specialist. She was trained as a finisher and repair technician at Burkart Flutes & Piccolos where she worked for two years.

Amanda has a passion for bringing out the joy and emotion in music by promoting individuality, creativity, and confidence while demonstrating a deeper musical understanding. She wants her students to understand that music is not only a gift, a passion, and a lifestyle, but most of all, it's fun!
