Overview
At AB Music School, we offer personalized instruction on 15 different instruments along with music theory and composition. Think you're too old to begin an instrument? Think again! We have experience teaching music at every age level, from 4 all the way to 70 years old. Lessons are individually tailored for each student to focus on their strengths and weaknesses as a musician. Each student is unique, so why wouldn't every lesson be? As with any artistic discipline, being a musician has its emotional ups and downs. We use positive reinforcement to build every student's confidence because ultimately, playing an instrument should be a fun and life changing experience!
With beginner instrumental students, we focus on learning the ins and outs of your new instrument, care and maintenance, creating a proper sound, and developing a clean tone while teaching the basics of music theory, notation, and rhythm. Private lessons are a perfect supplement to large group, in-school lessons. No matter how thorough your band director is, it isn't possible for them to keep a close eye on every individual student to ensure they are maintaining proper form and hand position. Private lessons enable the teacher to give the student 100% focus so that no major problems pop up later in in your musician's career. Half hour lessons are recommended for beginner students.
For advanced instrumentalists, we focus more on honing the skills the student has already developed and filling in holes as needed. Whether the student has had private lessons in the past or has only been playing with their school band, we can help you achieve your musical dreams. Advanced lessons focus on developing beautiful tone, improving intonation, building speed, adding personality to your music, and integrating variations in articulation.
Do you have an audition or performance coming up? We also incorporate thorough competition training and will set each student up with a comprehensive practice schedule to help with those problematic areas.

Payment & Pricing
Payment is due on the first lesson of the month. Pricing is dependent on how many weeks are in the current month for the day on which your lessons are scheduled. The rate is $30 per 1/2 hour session or $60 per hour long session. Monthly breakdowns are as follows:
4 week month, 30 minute lesson: $120
5 week month, 30 minute lesson: $150
4 week month, 60 minute lesson: $240
5 week month, 60 minute lesson: $300
Pricing may very depending on the frequency and lesson length set by the parent or student. Please contact us if you would like to discuss different options. We are happy to accommodate anyone who is willing to learn!
